East Austin is home to little coffee shops, quaint neighborhoods and great Mexican food. The area is undergoing redevelopment, but there are older homes in established neighborhoods just east of I-35. Near downtown Austin you can find modern condos and near the site of Austin’s old airport are new master planned communities. There are also some historic homes in East Austin. A few communities in East Austin are:

 

French Place: This central neighborhood blends many unique styles and the homes express the residents’ eclectic personalities. This area sits across I-35 from the University of Texas and is more affordable than many other centrally located neighborhoods.
